What Equipment Do You Need to Host Trivia Night?
All right, time to get technical. Here’s the audio equipment you’ll need:
- A handheld, bluetooth mic. We like The Shure BLX.
- A speaker, maybe two depending on the venue size. Any speaker with an XLR input will do.
- Speaker stands.
- A soundboard with at least two inputs. We like Yamaha, Behringer, and Mackie.
- Cords: XLR to XLR, XLR to ¼ inch, RCA to headphones.
Before rushing out to buy, check your in-house system first to see if it’ll do the trick, but if you’re a born trivia host looking to take your talents far and wide, you’ll want to have a personal set of equipment you can rely on.
How To Get People To Come To Your Trivia Night
Hosting a great trivia night is about more than chatting with the players and making jokes on the mic. First, you’ve gotta get people in the door.
That’s where a strong marketing strategy comes in.
Everything has a place on social media and trivia is no different. Use your personal and business profiles across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and more to promote your weekly trivia nights and engage with other trivia enthusiasts and companies.
We’ve used a strategy of fun graphics, creative and informative Instagram posts, website blogs, and Facebook events to great success since 2012, and it’s still working now both in Central Florida where hosts are rockin’ events every single week and with attracting clients from across the world looking for virtual trivia events.
But this page isn't about those events.
It’s about yours.
So now that you’re ready to flow, you’ll need some questions. We’ve got you on that too. If you want some quick ones, check out these free blogs:
